having blue ray is just like having a larger hard drive. the graphics, sound, and length of the games will not change just because you have more storage space. your still limited by the performance of the graphics and cpu processors. the only benefit you could see, is in games that have lots and lots of HD cutscenes in them, that are prerendered as video files and stored on disk. but i honestly doubt most developers will even bother to take advantage of that. the whole idea behind having blue ray in the ps3, is to help sony win the blueray/HDDVD battle, so that they can push their technology into more homes and end up selling you the same movie you already own, again in their blueray format. any in game benefits are just a way for them to hype up the format and try to justify why they put it into a game console.

also, the ps3 is NOT fully backwards compatible. there are already many reports of ps2 games not running right under the ps3. i doubt most people care tho, since anyone who buys a ps3, probably already has a ps2 in their house that they can use for their old games.
