It's becoming common police doctrine to taze subjects who fail to follow instructions. If they try to overpower you, that causes a struggle, where either the subject or the officers are much more likely to be injured. If they taze you, you generally go along peacefully.

The school's security officer followed procedure by calling the PD. Doubtful that any action will be taken against the officers regarding this. If it were truly a case of the kid being tazed for no reason, sure, but....he resisted arrest.
