Look at it like this. This weekend, if everyone were running the Bridgestones, would the renaults have been p1 and p2? Would the race have been as exciting? As it were, the michelin teams were hoping it to stay wet, as they had a far superior intermediate, and the bridgestone teams were hoping to hold out until it got dry, as they had a better slick. That made the race a fantastic watch.
As far as the teams being all about equal, I would say you have two dominant teams with Ferrari and Renault. Followed by McLearan who is competitive but has had reliability issues, coupled with a lack of top tier performances from their tallent. Honda
could be a contendor, but i doubt they will break into the top two with current performance. Everyone else seems to be unable to compete on the same leval, including the BMW/Sauber team, though they are really in their inaugeral season.
