I have my fair share of point on my license, if you get a lawyer it is likely they can help you out. My last court visit was for 73 in a 55, which in nj is a 4 point offense and would've put me beyond the limit and had my license suspended for 6 months and god only knows what done to my insurance. Paid for a lawyer, he had me take a defensive driving class (since your license is still NJ it means knocking 2 points off your current amount), in court talked with the prosecutor (not sure how this will help since you say you will be dealing directly with the cop?) but along with me having completed the course and his help, my ticket was dropped to a careless driving or something along those lines (0 points and just extra fines for the favor). All in all it cost me about 1g but i still have my license and my insurance isnt affected by that last interaction. Best wishes tho dude, sorry to hear about the bad luck.
