Also wasnt there a size limitation to external drives for Win 95/98/Me? If you are using any of those OS's then that may be your issue. I hope to god you arent using anything other than XP, Mac, or some linux variant though.

I know about the lock on the card and i tried formatting it with it locked (just in case) and without it locked and the same thing happened.
and about the size limitation. my computer is about a year old and i have windows XP proffessional but how do i figure out if there is a size limitation?

I don't have the ultra II but i i do have the 2GB. I didnt know they made it this big either haha. But when i went on the sandisk sight to see if it could help me any, i found 4GB SD cards.
Anyone else have any ideas? I'm going to try formatting it in my brother's older model kodak v530 because a memory card he let me borrow from that was formatted right and he used his camera to format it so...maybe.
