Yeah, it's kind of backwards to use race tires in a stock class, but the tires evolved faster than the rules and the R-compounds are still DOT approved.

The other weird stock class rule allows you to change shocks. The rules let you replace the parts that wear out, but the rules are a little relaxed, because you can replace the shocks with double adjustables and still be in stock class.
