2025 update to this thread:
While selling the GTI ultimately carried tons of regret, it's why I went back and got an R. With that said, I do miss the days of the manual GTI 2 door with less power. I might have to get another one and do the Clubsport S mods to it someday (son's car?).
Fun reading back through this thread - unfortunately, while searching for where this car is now, I found out that it was totalled out in Baltimore back in 2019. These days finding a 2 door manual Performance Pack is extremely difficult too.
