It's clear to me that they just separated the models, sort of like what Subaru wants to do with the WRX. The GT-R had become way different than the Skyline itself, so splitting the models made sense.
Though, the styling of the R35 does show an evolution from the prior cars, to me. The new Skyline/G37, however, does not.

That is sexy ass hell. And I was actually thinking of that in terms of how they work the skyline term similar to the impreza term. I wonder what they view it has in Japan. I know they make wagons etc., but we never get them here so only the ones we talk about are the nismo or v spec or gt's.
