You seem to be missing the point of modding a car with performance in mind. You see, when people add actual performance mods to their car, MOST of the time it's because it adds to their personal enjoyment DRIVING the car. You get enjoyment from your type of mods via the accolades of others.
Performance mods = usually done to improve the overall driving experience and are normally made to suit a single individual's goals (the driver).
"HellaFlush" mods = usually done for aesthetic purposes that enable the owner to fit into a certain trend or clique. More importance is placed on adhering to a single trend or style than improving the individual driver's enjoyment behind the wheel. In fact, the car normally does not even have to be driven to appreciate these types of mods which is where hard parking meets come into play. These types of mods often actually reduce the overall driving enjoyment due to poor handling, extreme reduction in shock travel and low ground clearance.
Car clubs built around the trendy style-du-jour never last long, because trends and what's considered "cool" constantly change. Increasing performance to add to the driving experience will never go out of style because it's not primarily based on what others think, but only the individual behind the wheel.
