Don't sleep on Sentras my friend, there have been 1 or 2 that have broken 10's at the track believe it or not.
Same with me. I decided to be different and get a used Porsche Boxster. I never see them at any meets. It was MUCH Cheaper than a 350z, RX-7, RX-8, S2000, Evo, M3, STI, 06+ SI but almost as fast with equal or better handling due to the mid-engine layout and low center of gravity of the flat-6 engine. It also weighs about the same as the Sentra. 2778 lbs. I got mine for just over $9 grand. MT, 76k miles, 7200rpm redline, 156mph top speed, RWD, Can't complain.

Good luck with the SE-R. I have driven one and they are fun. Only problem I found with them is torque steer. Some swap in a Maxima engine for better reliability and power, but that messes up handling a bit.
