There's a lot to the story that isn't being told. The car was towed in from another shop with several issues. It never ran, and was never completed by another shop. We were given half the parts necessary as well as half of a story as far as what was done to the car (which isn't the customer's fault because he told us what the previous shop had told him).
The car was rigged to work and never completed by the other shop because of the way they put it together. They used a discontinued AEM Honda ECU to run a turbo BMW. After re wiring the entire car and changing multiple parts that were incorrect we came to the conclusion that the AEM ECU was burnt out. I contacted Eddie at AEM and gave him a run down of the entire car. I also notified the customer that his setup (Honda AEM) was not the proper way to run the car but he insisted we use what he already had, because that's how the wiring and custom setup was done. I had explained at that point that there was no way that we would know how much power it would make and how reliable it was.
The AEM box was sent to AEM tech support and they diagnosed the issue with the box. There was an issue with getting supplied parts because they were no longer using the AEM as it was an original discontinued AEM Honda box. After several months the box came back. We had it plugged in and were able to see that now we were getting all signals from the box to ensure that the box was working correctly.
Remember since everything on this car was custom, we had no starting point and no point of reference. We got to the point where according to BMW's wiring schematic's and the way the AEM works we should have been able to fire it up, but it didn't. More troubleshooting and we were able to get everything working except injector pulse and spark.
As we were still working on it, the customer showed up and said he would be taking the car to paint and bringing it back. Long behold it was never brought back.
Having several inconsistencies in his story are correct.
Payment's were being made on the work that was being performed as well part's that were necessary. Reason why the car sat was because you were paying everything in increment's. On and off on a weekly, or monthly basis. So we worked on it on and off as you made payment's.
As the guys at AREA1320 are familiar with, some customer's disappear for a while. Some come back, other's don't. You did make payment's which was great, but no on any set timeframe.
Everyone on here know's me as well as my character. We aren't crooks, we don't hide and we try to be as straight forward as possible.
We understand that in today's economy not everyone has the funds nor the time to finish their projects so we are very lenient with not charging storage fees (which this customer wasn't). I tried my best to accomodate him and did everything to try and help. It's very hard to figure out other people's messes, without any starting point, as well as work with customer's that are on a limited budget and have to make payment's.
Please provide proof that everything was paid upfront and we held your car hostage for that amount of time to legitimize your statement. Other than that everything you have said contradicts itself.
My goal isn't to come on here and start an argument, but if your going to try and bash my lively hood, make sure you have proof as well as factual statement's.
The car was a mess when you towed it to the shop, we tried to accomodate you and allow you to make payment's on your car. It wasn't in our hands with waiting for parts to return from AEM or for you to give us money to continue you working on your car.
The shop previously told you it was an easy fix giving you false hope that your car would be done in a very short amount of time.
We were at the point of finishing your car when you picked it up but you decided to lie and say you were bringing it to paint and were going to bring it back so we could finish the job. Instead of saying you weren't happy with it and being truthful ou decided yet again to lie. At that point I could have tried to make you happy and explain everything to you as to why it wasn't finished yet. Instead you lied and had the car towed out. I also mentioned that I didn;t want you to take the car and not bring it back because at that point you had already made all the payment's in labor and I didn't feel it was right to not finish the job for you. This is when you again stated you were bringing it back.
Everyone on this forum knows we haven't had one bad review without any just reasoning. We have provided invoices to anyone that has asked, and even e-mailed them if it was of any inconenience to come pick one up.
I thank everyone that realizes the inconsistencies and can see past the non sense being spewed in this thread.
Thank You.
