I used to have a '93 318is that had a full 328 swap. It was done before I bought the car so I didn't do any of the work, but I can tell you that if you're keeping the M52 ecu, you're going need to also swap in the EWSII system, which means you're going to need the full lock set+keys including the igntion.
The motor will bolt up to the tranny just fine.
