A buddy of mine sold me his i30 that he's had for 6 years or so.
He swapped in a VLSD 5-speed, it was s/c for a little, then I helped him do a 3.5 swap about 4 years ago. The car has been through a lot.. stolen, crashed into a few times, etc. so it's a bit past it's prime.
He was getting a new car, unloading it for a decent price, and I needed a car with my bonnie being down so I picked it up.
I always kinda liked the car and I know a thing or two about VQs since doing the 3.5 swap so it's cool to have even all beat up.
The car was too close to being decent to not fix it up a bit. I've got about $500 into it so far, which includes: home made IACV, VC gaskets, center cap, junkyard OEM starter, front bumper, 3/4 fogs, fender, inner fender, washer bottle, new Cefiro headlights, nicer leather with console (heated fronts), and paint for the bumper/fender.
When I got it:
Now:
I still have to install the fogs, heated seat wiring, align things a bit better and do some major cleaning. The paint match isn't 100% but decent none the less.
