Judging yourselves by the merits of others is not just an online thing.

I agree that forums often don't help -- but it is not the cause of any of it. Also, as far as e-thugs go, they are everywhere. With that said, many communities are able to keep them to a minimum (see: SA).

With that said I also personally hate car forums, for the most part. While some are okay, most are bastions of ignorance and terrible.
