Aye, tons of work to do and don't feel like doing it.

I do some of the dumbest things when working on cars.
Don't feel too bad. The BMW v8 seems to be the black plague for me. Lets see. when I do oil changes I always let the plug drop down in the oil pan no biggie. It just so happens the 540's drain plug PERFECTLY fits the little hole. Stopped up the drain and at least 3 quarts of dirty oil poured all over my garage floor. I had to reach into the pan and grab the plug with my poor hand in order to remedy the situation.

Then when I got home from vacation I saw some coolant under the rear of the engine. I know the valley pan was leaking so I decided to do the work. The design of this engine is that there are coolant pipes that connect the front and rear and there is a manifold on the rear with gaskets and 3 bolts on each side (the coolant doesn't run through the intake). When I put the car back together I apparently put one of hte gaskets in backwards which still aligned to the bolt holes but left a nice hole in the bottom side. I filled up the coolant and thereafter about a gallon and a half of coolant drained onto my garage floor.

So I fixed that, filled the coolant again and near the top I spill some coolant as I'm filling. I hear it trickling onto thefloor. No biggie. I keep filling. Weird every time I add it sounds like more hits the floor. It took about a half a gallon before I realized it's the heater hose I didn't hook back up after doing the manifold gasket.

Then I didn't realize it was entirely full and the coolant was spilling out of the bleeder valve in a place I didn't see it.

sheehs.. at least the car runs... I'm almost shocked considering it has me working on it.

Also don't feel bad, that jack accident could have gone way worse.
