I'm not attacking you james, just trying to share my point of view being that I've been in similar situations and when i was younger had a similar attitude. Now i realize that there are times it is beneficial to swallow some pride and step off that pedestal and under sell yourself just to get in the door. People will pay good money for talent, but it's rare people will pay good money to gamble on someone new.
What were you going charge? was the difference in the pay that much that to make you not do it? I mean I can understand if you charge $500 that $150 is way to low to sell yourself. But if you were going to charge $200, or even $250 i would have sucked it up. I mean ****, $150 although it is less than what you wanted it is still better than nothing.
I understand that there are exceptions and certain circumstances that make things not as desirable to do but... one person is making $150 and more than likely going to get more gigs depending on how it goes and who they network with. Another person lost $150 and the opportunity to be seen and get noticed and possibly score other jobs. '
just something to think about. again i mean no dis-respect.
