DC2.2GSR - I actually agree with you on one thing and that's - people who can get certified and TRAINED, checked, and approved to carry should be able to. Making it easier or loosening laws for anyone to get a gun I will never agree on. Strict laws on obtaining a gun and carrying only stop those good citizens that are to lazy to prove worthy to own/carry. It would be silly to think that anyone who wanted to buy a gun was mentally stable, responsible, and careful enough to own and carry.
If you want to own a gun in this Country or at least this state you need to prove your are responsible enough. You did, and I actually have some respect for that.
Gov. should force large businesses to have armed security like mentioned (I agree)... This way FOX news can say he's a nazi trying to kill your working class family member w/ his drowns placed at the work place..

i'm not talking about buying, owning, or carrying firearms anywhere else in the state or country, i mean at work. most larger businesses have unfair rules and regulations in place that prohibit employees from carrying while on company property. again, this is not about stricter gun laws or anything like that, we're talking about citizens whom the state has already deemed fit to be licensed to carry firearms. at this point, it's not about what you or i think about who should be allowed to carry, the people i'm referring to have already satisfied the state's requirements, so why restrict concealed carry at work? why would a place of employment be any different than a grocery store or library or restaurant where these individuals would be responsibly carrying anyway?
what really bothers me is that some companies even go as far as to try to include prohibiting guns locked in personal vehicles on company property. they don't care if it's in a bolted down vehicle security lock box or on your front seat or inside your waistband. as far as they're concerned - gun on company property = termination. that's extremely unfair, and it's also very dangerous. by outlawing legal concealed carry on company property, you're doing nothing but making it less stressful for the 'shooters', who are guaranteed not to meet any resistance as they walk through their workplace blasting away. they know that no one has a weapon, so they are free to do as they wish until they run out of ammunition or they get bored.
the robert heinlein quote "an armed society is a polite society. manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life." is very fitting here if you can imagine it adapted to guns and the workplace instead of just society in general. if everyone who sincerely thinks about going on a shooting spree feared, or maybe even expected that any one or all of their coworkers could possibly be armed, they'd probably think twice about drawing their own weapon on someone else wouldn't they? criminals are predators who look for weak prey for an easy target, and an unarmed office employee is a very weak and easy target when confronted by a psychopath with a gun.
all i'm saying is that it would be in the best interest of all corporations and all employers for that matter to stop criminalizing legal carry of firearms while on the job.
