It's what most men (and a lot of women too) live to do.
The point I think oakes was trying to make is that if you're driving around in a stock corolla you might think 120mph is crazy nutso you're whacked out fast, but in a proper car with proper brakes, etc. It's really not so bad. Consider that someone I know who is not a car or driving enthusiast like me will happily do 90mph in his not well suited car. 120 is just 30 faster. Also proven many times that there are less deaths on the autobahn than on similar US highways and the picture starts to become clear that on US highways, people are being bored to death literally.

Oh, no doubt do I think driving at night with fewer chances of traffic and doing 130+ is smarter than doing it in broad daylight but that still doesn't mean it was smart. And that's the only point I'm making.
But I'm sorry, I still think that if someone was doing triple digits on a public road and happened to get in an accident and kill one of our friends or family members, that EVERYONE would be calling him being irresponsible, rather than just some. Put it this way, if the deceased kid had lived and his passenger died or if he lived and crashed into and killed a car full of people, he would probably be charged with manslaughter, no? Would there be that much sympathy, then?
I also feel really strongly against people driving under the influence and have no sympathy for anyone who gets killed doing so... I feel pretty strongly about certain things, and I'm also willing to accept that someone can feel just as strongly the other way. I find little point in continuing to try and explain myself.
I'm not sitting here laughing at the kid for getting himself killed, I just simply think he got himself killed making a bad decision that maybe some of you make all the time. That's all.
