The wissahickon is the river that runs through fairmount park near lincoln drive. If you look at a map, it runs north/south branching out from the schuylkill right near where Route 1 (roosevelt blvd) and Route 76 (schuylkill expressway) intersect.

It is stocked with trout, but they aren't there very long. The water gets too warm and they vanish as the summer goes on. I have caught sunnies and smallmouths in there though.

If your more to the NE of philly, there's the pennypacker. Just north of the tacony palmyra bridge. Never fished there but I've heard it's decent.

There's also Valley creek in Valley Forge park, a little farther out of the city but very pretty and there are wild brown trout. Fly fishing only however (or artificial lures only? Definitely look it up to make sure what the regs are)

Then, also farther outside the city, look at a map to the west and you'll see Ridley Creek State park. I haven't fished there, but I've heard there is fishing to be done.
