wow, i guess im not the only insomniac... if you dont mind a little drive, check out claytons in horsham, classic piston in south hampton, and american arms and ammo in montgomeryville/colmar... i personally like american arms the best, i have never had a bad experience there as a matter of fact and they have some great deals (bring cash)

A strong recommendation i would make is to determine what you want the gun for, i.e. are you planning on carrying it? do you just want it to kill targets? home defense? etc.

have you shot before? What caliber are you looking for? How much do you want to spend?

I would also strongly recommend trying out a few guns before purchasing one... if you want to come to the range with us (me chris aaron and my buddy jon) next thursday you can try my glock 19 (9mm) and i dont doubt chris would let you try his glock 23 (40sw) and jon would let you try his beretta 9... aaron has a 1911 (45acp) that he would probably let you try out as well... There will probably be a few assault rifles in the group too haha

just trying that selection of handguns out should give you a pretty good idea of what you want... two are compacts (19 and 23) of two different calibers but with all of the traditional GLOCK features (no ridiculous safeties, internal hammer, composite bodies, etc) the beretta is a full size and is metal with the more traditional safeties, as is the 1911...

another thing to consider is cost of ammo... 9mm ammo is a LOT cheaper than 40 and 45 and if you get the right kind, can have plenty of stopping power (i use critical defense with the cute little red tip for home defense) and regular crap ammo for the range (another plus with the GLOCKs is you can basically put ANYTHING through them and they will fire, just be sure to clean it after, also a very easy process)
