After looking at the manual, its a 'non-serviceable part' and I'm supposed to call Kitchenaid to come out for a house call who will charge $200 + $50 for the bulb.
F that! Just spent a while figuring out how to take the framework of this puppy apart and slide it out so I could access the top. Seems really silly, but I'm feeling pretty victorious right now. Ordered a new bulb for $8 shipped and it should go back together pretty easily now that I know how to solve the puzzle.
