I'm a little confused ..
If you were given a ticket, the ticket should have the cost of your fine written on it. If you don't know what your fine is, then it sounds like you might have been given a 'warning' -- which means you have a certain amount of days to remove the ticket and show your non-tinted car to the officer, and then you'll be free and clear. I suggest reading the paperwork that was given to you.
However, I know through vicarious experience that even if you're given a ticket for tint, the ticket itself is NOT any sort of mandatory order to remove the tint. You can pay the fine and leave your tint on. But if you do that, and get caught again by the same officer .. you could be in for an even bigger fine. Again, I speak through vicarious experience.
I have 20%, and that's riding a very fine line. I'll never get anything darker again.
