I did alot of research when I was getting ready to build my motor on this subject. Most will get the job done but some serve for different scenerios. For example, If the motor will be sitting assembled for a while or tossed in after assembly. Just like oil, the weights are different and use different compounds. In my situation, I knew my motor was going to sit for a week or 2 while I picked up some loose ends so I opted for Lucus engine assembly lube. Its very thick and tacky so it wont run off if sitting for a period of time. I read a bunch of good stuff on the Clevite bearing guard but the stuff was hard to find.

I know your not an idiot and may already know this but don't use synthetic oil during the break in period...
