As far as going to a 5.0, meh... It's a better starting platform, but it's really nothing the 3V motors couldn't do with some bolt ons. 6 Speed is FTW though

The 03/04 Cobra motor is packed under the hood just as tight if not worse.
In regards to your 3v comment....are you serious? The 3v motors are not that great at all. If the talk is true about the 5.0 with built internals, you're talking a way stronger motor then the 3v, which was known to start having issues at around 470rwhp and up.
