A reminder...always try to work on your own car

After some struggles with my car, I decided to change the fuel filter to start. Didn't de-pressurize the system right, got gas in my eye when I popped the line off and decided to take it to a shop so I don't lose an eye over it.

Drop the car off at 10am, watch the mechanic pull away in it. I told him what the problem was and how to replicate it, as I hear him pulling away, he clearly didn't understand that I said to get on it in 2nd and take it to redline where the car starts to backfire. I leave.

Drop my dad off at the hospital for his surgery, and decide to swing by on the way home to see if any progress was made, but my car is still not back (it's already 11:15). Hang around for a few minutes and see my car pull in, mechanic gets out with a box of parts for some other work (sweet, my car was used as a runner). I leave.

Call back at 2:30 "hey i gotta get to school tomorrow, have you started to work on my car?"...."nah well start on it soon"

Decide at 4:30 to **** it and walk to the shop, my car is in the same spot as it was when I saw it at 11:15 so I ask them for the keys and leave.

Lesson learned, don't let someone else work on your car (in this case not work on it). I had the whole day free and instead of the car being in front of my house where I could have done something, it stood outside of their shop as they did nothing.
