Your best bet would be to have the car repo'd. That way the loan ends, the bank gets the money and you can both wash your hands of the mess.

The only thing you might to find out before doing that would be to ask the bank if they are going to put that one her credit report. Try to negioate that they do not mark up her credit.

Getting a lawyer to get him to pay will only cost you money up front with hopes of him paying later. A judgement against a deadbeat is pretty worthless.
