Looks awesome! Just spent $60 on a hood and stripped/rusted it for the beater, I would have considered doing this instead if I had known.
Resin may mess up the vinyl from the heat when curing, let alone the chemicals possibly making it a gooey mess. Resin doesn't bond to plastics or vinys as strong as if it were metal, wood, or itself.
Another issue would be having the hard outter shell of resin/clear over the plyable, soft vinyl. If any flexing or weight is caused/added, there could be cracking issues with the resin... Clear does have a decet flex to it tho.
