The sun isn't a dwarf star. It's actually pretty big compared to our nearest stars. I remember reading in 7th grade that it has pretty high classification. It's the perfect star for energy output and sustainment. It doesn't burn fuel too fast and isn't too hot. Our solar system could have been a dual star system had it not been for Jupiter failing at becoming a star.
