Seriously, everyone is going to tell you something different. I would defintely talk to the engine builder about it because he may have specific recommendations for break-in based on the tolerances he used.
This is what you should definitely do though: Start the car and let it come up to normal temperature, turn it off and change the oil.
Here's where people will start to disagree: With my new motor, I brought it to different RPM's and then let the motor slow itself down repeatedly. Then brought the car home and changed the oil again. I don't believe in "easy" break-ins. I was at the track with probably 400 miles on the motor.
The key is to consistently accelerate and then let the motor slow the car down itself and to change the oil often. The rings are probably going to seat 90% of the way the first time you take it out. The last 10% in less than 1000 miles. Avoid highways so that you're not keeping the motor at the same RPM for any long periods of time.
