sounds like a bad cv. You have a clunk every rotation which means it is either trans, driveshaft, diff, or cv/axles. If its from the rear, its not the trans. If it varies with suspension load, likely then the axles--as the angle of the axle changes so does the "clunk". Have you checked the boots to make sure they're not torn? Even if they are intact you could have busted it launching at the strip. Good luck...
