You missed my point... then took offense where I really did mean any (sorry). My musical tastes are not based on emotion (angry OR sad). I listen to the actual music. I listen to the White Stripes the same way somebody would listen to 40's big band or classical (going a bit far for my taste).
A simple way to explain it would be: Moshing or crying is the wrong way to listen to music.
And for the record, if one of my friends was ranting like Slipknot or slitting his wrists over something... he's the asshole.
