the V8 will never die period. if the worlds sole purpose in the auto industry is to make fuel efficient vehicles than why not put Diesel engines in everything?!?!?. they get the best gas mileage by far between the 2 and rival the hybrids. they can make power just as well, if not easier, than a gas engine.
honestly...dont you guys think they have the technology to make an engine that gets 30+mpg and still make decent power?? sure they do....but why would you do that....that means the gas companies would lose money.

chevy had carburetor technology that allowed them to get high mpg and high hp out of v8's. they bought the patent and to this and threw it away. they don't want you to have a cheap effective way to run your car. look at the ****ing smart cars and honda fits. they're a ****ing joke. they brag about 35 mpg like it means something and you have to spend 12-15 for the car. you could easiily get a 1800 dollar mid 90's civic and get a consistent 42 mpg.....
