I wouldn't say dieing, but we are saving fuel a lot more these days due to cost. So its supply and demands basics. But when you look at it.
Toyota trucks/suv and Lexus use V8's
Infinity truck/suvs/M Series use V8's, Nissan trucks/SUVs
Hyundai makes a V8
VW makes a V8
GM has a ton of FWD/RWD V8 cars, Trucks and SUV
Ford F150 only comes V8, plus the SUV's, and Luxary lines use the modular motors.
And Mopar, they stick that 5.7 in damn near anything they can.
And many more
Dying no, in the last 5 years V8s have made a come back in the US market. Just not in the entry level classes. When you think about it its the V6 that's dying. Inline 4's have just been getting better and better eliminating the reason to have the somewhat peppier V6 option.

No, I was right...more like turbo v6's and yes other turbo 4s.
its not about being peppy or power, or what a few select people would rather have becuase they love v8s, its about gas mileage federal laws that v8's just cant keep up with.
