benefits of rear mount turbos are lower under hood temps, more room generally, but there are drawbacks also...more plumbing (extra weight, slower spool time) and also oiling becomes a problem...if you have an oil pump sending oil back to the turbo all it takes is a blown fuse and there goes your turbo/motor. They have their place and sound absolutely sick, but if it were me id go underhood everytime.
