Hip-hop is the voice of the youth, the experienced, its for those who seek something more than money and fame. They are the ones who do it for the music and for the people that truly appreciate it. Like Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, Common, Pras, and etc. Rappers are those who want to emulate Tony Montana and the scarface mantra. Everyone is a gangster, has money, done dirt and still in the streets. Everyone has an alias and will kill for whatever reason. It is an imaginary world. They are those that do blur/skirt the lines between the two. Jay-Z does it often, nas too. But alot of people are to dumbed down to listen to the music and see the difference. Hell listen to the ****ing Cool by Lupe. Or his mixtapes. THAT IS HIP HOP. Now then listen to a ****ing Jim Jones album. THAT IS RAP.

Hip Hop is the culture, rap is the music within that culture.
