i went there in october too. and it was so fun. i took my stock 99 4runner out and it handled it great. any body with a beat up suv can go up there and have fun. just make sure you have a winch and diff locks for stuff like the rock climbs up along the power lines. In the Fall, the best part during sundown is riding along the narrow cliff (j-1). you get to see some nice foliage too.
