The DHS West community learned today, October 21st, of the tragic loss of one of our students. Senior John Schwartz was killed in a car accident in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County late Monday afternoon. John was traveling with two friends from the Coatesville area when the accident occurred. His friends, who were not DASD students, were flown by helicopter to Lancaster General Hospital where they are being treated for their injuries.
John was an honor student, taking advanced math and calculus classes. He had hoped to attend college in the fall. He was very active in the local Boy Scouts. John also attended West Bradford Elementary and Downingtown Middle Schools.
When services for John are announced, they will be posted on this page. We send our deepest condolences to John’s family. He will be missed by his friends at DHS West.
