How did the officer measure your speed?

§ 3739 Reckless driving

(a) Any person who drives any vehicle in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property is guilty of reckless driving.

Your doing almost double the posted speed limit following another car doing almost double the posted speed limit. The car didn't get to that speed on its own, you willfully decided to go that fast. Traveling at that speed on a public highway leads to nothing but bad things if something goes wrong.

§1538 (d) Conviction of excessive speed

(1) When a person is convicted of driving 31 miles per hour or more in excess of the speed limit....

The officer said your speed was 110mph, you said you were not going that fast. Ok said IF you weren't going 110 and maybe the Infiniti was, if your anywhere in the general area of keeping pace with him your speed is pretty close to his. So anywhere from 86-110 will get you excessive speed, which there is a good chance you were in that area if he got one of you at 110.

§3367 Racing on highways

(b) No person shall drive a vehicle on a highway in any race, speed competition or contest, drag race or acceleration contest, test of physical endurance, exhibition of speed or acceleration, or for the purpose of making a speed record, and no person shall in any manner participate in any such race competition, contest, test or exhibition.

Now look back on the situation and think why you go a ticket for that. You were both doing almost double the posted speed limit within close proximity to each other.

Get a lawyer and see what happens in court.
