Stupid do-it-yourself maintenance question...
 

I know on all the newer WRX's, the pump/ filter/ strainer assembly is IN the fuel tank; What I want to know is, is there an actual serviceable fuel filter on these cars, or is it integral to the pump asm., and can only be changed as part of such?

You can service the filter. Just remove the pump and replace the filter. Your wallet won't like you so much as those suckers go for around $90

Yeah, not worth it.

Yay for the 02-03 filters being under the hood.
