My grandma threw me up a nice little surprise today

Well today my grandmother presented me with a nice little surprise. She is getting older and she said before she passes she wants me in a nice newer car that will last me a long time and be a safe car. So she told me to sell my firebird and whatever i get from the firebird she is going to put up 6K to put towards a newer car.

So today i went and did some research and narrowed down what i want
Its between a
Scion TC
Newer Civic coupe
S/C Cobalt SS
SRT4

The TC is lowest on the list because I have drivin it and while it is a nice car it would bore me in the long run

The SRT4 is low on my list because the ones in my price range are more than likeley to be the ones that were ran into the ground

The civic coupe is nice and I dont see any problem with getting one

The cobalt is at the top of my list but Very spcific on what i want. It has to be either black or red with the red and black leather interior and stick shift.

Anyone Input on these cars?

Don't get a scion tc. Not to hate but their either girl or guido cars. Is it an SI coupe? If not go for the Cobalt SS

Get a GTO, can't go wrong there... about same price as others..

I looked into the GTO and only found 2 with good miles and low priced but. I need somthing that will get me through winter's ok.

And the civic isant an SI the only SI's avalible are high miles.

Yeah, stick with the Cobalt then. Why not an RSX? Their good cars

Get a WRX, that'd get you through the winter great.

I looked into them and there still up there in price. The only ones in my range are the bugeyed ones which arnt bad but I think the cobalt looks better.

What is wrong with rwd in the winter? Get good winter tires and you're set.

My buddy had one and beat the balls off of it. Plus my dad put in as one of the rules for this deal no upper end models of a car. Meaning no benzes BMW's No lexus's no infinity's and no acura's

Just dont want another RWD i have 3 already and am getting rid one one for this deal. Plus the GTO would kill me insurance wise.

Not to be nosey, but it might help if we have a price range...$6k+...?

dangerousatom 04-19-2010 08:37 PM

a WRX will be far better in just about every area compared to a Cobalt-SS

I know im just not really feeling the WRX not to mention the cobalt SS im looking at only had about 10 thousand miles on it where as the WRX i found had 56K. And im also not looking to build it up or anything like that. just somthing to drive around daily and have a little pep to it.

I don't want to burst your bubble but your not getting more then probably 2-2.5k for a V6 98 firebird unless its very low miles. So assuming you have 7-8k to work with I'd suggest an SVT Focus or maybe a 99-00 SI or 99-01 GSR. I would not consider an Si or GSR an upper model but thats just me.

ChargerPrincess2 04-19-2010 08:51 PM

ok good. thats my next car =)
