offset
I drive an 05 wrx wagon and i was thinking about getting new wheels on it but there is the issue with what offset i should get. I've heard different things about different offsets wasting bearings and axles and suspension components, but different people say different things about it. I have heard that you should never go less than 48, is that true and what would you recommend offset-wise?

Sweet car! :)
It all depends on what size wheels, tires, and suspension you are looking at running. I have intentions on doing some track days so I wanted to fit something decently wide under my car. For instance I am running a 17X9 +42 with a 245/40/17 tire, which required rolling the rear fenders, proper coilover setup, and a good alignment with some negative camber. It all adds up pretty quick. Wheel bearings wearing faster may be true, but I havent seen it. They are wear items after all. :) |
I bought the car about 7 months ago with 18" adr sukodu wheels on it but they come in two different offset options 42 or 48. Either way im getting new ones cause i dont really like them.
