Hiking Boots
I need a new pair of boots. I wear them everyday for at least 12 hours, and have come to enjoy a light weight hiker with most if not all bell's like GoreTex, Vibram soles, etc.
I finally blew out my Merrell's I purchased over 5 years ago. They were just under $150 iirc and seriously kick ass. My foot never hurt and was never cold (until they blew out). I'm trying to see what I can get for a little less, but since I wear them everyday I'm not gonna skimp. I'm almost on the verge of ordering, at $185 it's more then I was planning on spending but looks incredibly well made : http://www.trails.com/gear/p/merrell...x-hiking-boot/ More reasonably at $125 (and most comparable to what I'm wearing now) is something like: http://www.trails.com/gear/p/merrell...terproof-boot/ Also debating with no experience: Good price and weight : http://www.shoebuy.com/golite-sky-li...-_-none-_-none Cause they are ballin (but I don't remember liking Tim's fit_: http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/pr...866814.2866815 Your thoughts on Keen, Montrail, Danner(go get mes a der) |
I have a pair of KEEN sandals, not hikers, but they are built like tanks. They are super comfy.
Id also check out The North Face boots. I just got a pair of their GoreTex trail runners and man are they awesome. I've been wearing them to shovel all of this snow and my feet have been comfy and dry as a bone. I haven't personally had any of their boots, but I hear good things. |
NF is nice but the price is typically a tad high in my opinion, but more importantly I'm having a hard time finding a pair in size 14.
Thanks for the info on the Keen brand though, I'll need to recheck their boots as I think I liked a pair around 100. |
