eyelid adhesive?

I have a set of eyelids I am going to install. What is the best adhesive to use that will keep them as close to the housings as possible.
I'm thinking double sided tape, but is there a particular brand that works best. I'm new to the paint and mirrors stuff.

3M double side tape is best, just make sure you use the red backed tape as opposed to the blue backed tape (the blue is thicker). Also it is very important to use 3M adhesion promotor on both surfaces prior to installation. Be sure to leave a 1/8 inch space between the tape and the outter edge of the peice being installed. Make sure that both surfaces are warm and that you apply 30 pounds of pressure after application. Do all this and its not coming off;)
