.:R32 Flapper mod
Picking up an R32 and i was wondering if any fellow vdubbers have ever done the flapper mod for the r32 and if you have can you tell me how??
what is the flapper mod? I did a flapper mod to my 328, but i doubt its the same thing lol.
i was thinking the same thing, what is it? Im not familiar with the r32s....or vw's really for that matter. im jsut curious.
Try asking a VW forum?
moved to the right section. i know there are users here who can answer this for you...
take the vacuum actuator off (the black thing on the side of the pipe), opened it up (carefully because the plastic tabs are brittle), then put some 100MPH tape over the hole leading to the pipe.
will this give me any problems?
i have never hear of any resulting problems. just make sure you put the hose back on the actuator
what does this do??

just get one of those suit case clips or a zip tie and crimp the lil plastic tube connected to the flapper.
thats for MKIVs, but MKVs are diff i think |
wait, is this a Mk4 or Mk5 R?

Careful with this mod you'll gain HP top end but lose low-end torque. That's why it's a two step exhaust but yes it does sound awesome. First you pop the hood, on the passenger side looking at the car there is a black vacuum hose that runs along the fire wall on the top of the engine bay. There is going to be a coupler that holds 2 hoses together. Seperate the coupler, then your going to plug the end closest to the passenger with a cap. Voila! Instant flapper mod.
