I need your opinions. Ebay Scam or Not?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_500wt_1182

This is what I got from the "lady" in email. Since you can't bid on it, the process it's considered a direct sale.

This 2000 Honda Prelude is in perfect working condition.
This vehicle engine runs very, very smooth. No electrical or mechanical problems on this beauty. This detailed vehicle makes the exterior looks like it just came off the assembly line. The asking price for it is $2,900.00
Because of my divorce settlement,i own this car and as a woman without driver`s license i don`t need it so i`m trying to get rid of it as soon as possible(that`s why i`m selling it so cheap) so the first one came is the first one served.
The thing is i`m very busy and i don`t have time to stay and meet with all my potential buyers, that is why i gave to a shipping company that will ship it to the next owner(on my cost), so i'm trying to sell it online under eBay`s protection.
I will only deal through eBay for our own protection so they act as a neutral third party. They will hold and insure your money until receipt of the car in good conditon.
You will be gived a 15 days inspection period before releasing the payment. If you wish to purchase it please provide me your full name and address so I can initiate the deal through eBay.
I look forward to hearing from you.
So is this an eBay scam or what?!

BigWhiteTodd 11-23-2009 12:30 AM

well the i see its from ny well were is the inspection sticker? also the truck down the driveway dont have a front plate either idk.

The Captain 11-23-2009 12:37 AM

Hmmmm, being that it's in NY, i'd demand to come see the car or pick it up in person. Dont deal through just the internet. I also wouldnt trust Ebay to protect you in any way.

Be smart, protect yourself.

"If it seems like too good of a deal, it probably is"

99blazer 11-23-2009 12:38 AM

Scam. Ask for more pictures and ask detailed questions.

2000 Honda Prélude Prelude
00 SUPER CHARGED MODIFIED CAR

mcperson2k 11-23-2009 12:44 AM

That is DEFINITELY a scam. They try to pull that **** day after day. That's the common line for the car scammers.

The Captain 11-23-2009 12:48 AM

hahah Per Ebay Ad RIGHT under the price.

I don't know how it works but I got the exact same line from a "woman" selling a MINT 12k mile Evo for $7,000. It was her husbands, they got divorced, yada yada. I never replied, and I don't think you should either.

SvicksTc 11-23-2009 12:50 AM

SCAM!!!.....I would never trust an escrow (Spelling?) service like that...definitly a scam

3rdGenMr2Girl 11-23-2009 02:38 AM

scam. no doubt.

ndubz 11-23-2009 03:05 AM

Either a scam, or its a stolen car. dont do it.

BlackBulletTSi 11-23-2009 03:30 AM

^^^ What they said

VvStingervV 11-24-2009 04:52 AM

Definite Scam, they always seem to ask for $2900, thats a dead giveaway, I believe it has something to do with the levels of prosecution.

Proven 11-24-2009 05:17 AM

Clearly a SCAM, I also got the same ol story before "I got the car in my divorce, just want it gone, etc". I asked if I can come pay in person / inspect the car and "she" responded with "I'm out of town on business and wont be home till next month, My friend will be shipping the car or you can go pick it up but I need payment first"

Watch out for craigslist also. You know, the 93+ supra's for $4984 that's in Philly but has palm trees in the pictures.

jcr557 11-24-2009 01:24 PM

SCAM, when did NY look that nice? also agreed with no tag on the truck,

law in NY is tag in front and back.
ad says: Sells to: Local pick-up only, but she wants to ship it?

ask for a specific address to come look at the car or a phone number so you can talk with someone. if no one replies, forget it. but by the looks, i would say its a scam and stay away.

KEVN257 11-24-2009 02:10 PM

if you look at the history of the car it shows last registered in ohio, not definative but would raise questions

cupofnoodles 11-24-2009 05:58 PM

idk but that back lip needs to go if you get it

doug 11-24-2009 06:09 PM

Bender 11-24-2009 09:11 PM

///M 11-24-2009 09:21 PM
