the mike's return of "NO TRUNK" 2003 WRX wagon. New pics 4/6.

I couldn't take it anymore, not having a Subaru. As fun as it was leaving 100 feet of rubber in the 240, it's just not a practical fun car. Nice weekend toy, sure. But I wanted some civility back in my commute. So, I started looking for bugeye wagons to replace the horrible mistake that was getting rid of my white wagon. Stumbled on this one in the same zip code as me. Has some miles, but I have seen higher mileage cars, so....

Just like all my cars, it's going to eventually get some tasteful mods along the way. I still have my STi wheels, but they're going to need a powdercoat after this winter. Gold on sliver doesn't do it for me. I'll update with more pics and stats later.

05 axle back?

good to see you back in a wagon

Subie_sleeper 11-17-2009 08:18 PM

Welcome back to the fold. Now we have to get DaveSti to entertain the possibility of dumping the new EVO for the next Gen STI:mrgreen:

04 STi axleback mated to a Perrin catback/midpipe. I took off the Perrin axleback, it was too loud. Sounded good, but too much for 6AM work mornings.

Let's not hate on EVOs, I loved mine.

The mod list from the sale post:

here are a few mods on the car
grimmspeed up pipe
tial 38 ewg
Custom dumptube
grimmspeed iwg bracket
css big top mount
stage 2 clutch
autometer boost gauge(tuned to 18psi)
perrin downpipe
perrin catback exhuast
perrin turbo inlet
k&n drop in filter
20% tint all the way around
subaru all weather floor mats
07 sti headunit with ipod adapter
Launch control program

Did some modding/de-modding over the last couple of days:

Took off the front tint
Buffed the headlights
moved the iPod/aux in to behind the shifter
changed the A/C colors to red to match the radio

Still need to get an STi cluster, and change the key light to red to match. Going to order fog overlays and some little stuff this week. Giddy-up!

I'll be Honest(pun intended), I'm not a fan. It doesn't seem to hold boost as well as I would like. Might be other issues though. I still have to fine tooth comb the car.

That could be the tune since your probably on the stock boost solenoid. A MBC and a retune would probably help with that, but I dont know what good that would do with a TD04. :o

I think I died of shock.

the mike 11-18-2009 09:21 PM

Hater. I WAS eyeing up your car, but I loves me some wagons.

Got around to redding the key light today. Think I am going to wet sand the headlights with 2000 grit and buff them this week. Kind of pitted after 6+ years.

I may also get an MBC. I don't need to see the boost spikes I am seeing now. It creeps over 20PSI at some points. Scares me.

Also does anyone know if Subaru has a national history for their service records? Toyota is national, meaning I can see the records of work done at other dealers across the country.

jspek 11-18-2009 09:34 PM

should have went further back in time and got another evo :p. nice pick up mike.
