91 Eclipse GSX Restore/Rebuild 1000 hp goal

Here is a 1991 Eclipse GSX that we stripped down, sent to paint, and now we are in the process of putting it back together. We are doing custom suede interior panels and building the car to handle 1000hp. The turbo set-up will be redone for next season. Check back for updates.

Looks great! I may have to re-do my bay again...

DPancoast 06-12-2010 11:59 PM

that looks awesome. any specs available?

i would love to know what kind of fuel and ignition handles that much power. I've been following Nicks car (assault187) and would love to compare and learn!

The fuel system has twin Bosch 044 fuel pumps, twin Aeromotive fuel rails with (8) 1000cc injectors. Ignition has a M&W Pro 12 CDI box and AEM pencil coils.

Oil feed from the head? Not sure if I agree with that.

Pretty engine bay...can't believe owner wants to rip it apart again already!

Are you asking why? Or not sure about my statement. It's one of those continuously ongoing DSM debates.

TrboChicsRock 06-17-2010 03:17 PM

I don't think it's much of a debate. If you call up a company like Forced Performance or any other turbo manufacturer they'll tell you to run a ball bearing turbo from the head and a journal bearing turbo from the OFH.

Car looks great though. Can't wait to see what it does.

Goddabob 06-24-2010 11:17 PM

I saw this car in person and the attention to detail is top notch.

You guys should post some pictures of the dash.
