old school horror movies...

anyone into old school horror movies? i'm not talking about jason and freddie... i'm talking about really obscure stuff, or stuff that was never main stream... like the reanimator series

stuff from the 60's through to the 80's.

I been trying to get into the stuff myself (lazily), but i don't know anything... yet... anyone have DVD's they could lend or copy for me? or at least names of movies and/or directors

I loooooove horror movies. My personal favorites:

John Carpenter's The Thing
Phantasm (personal favorite of all time)
Hellraiser
The Toxic Avenger Series (Tromaville)
Last House on the Left
One Missed Call (Japenese version)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
The Blob
Dementia 13
The Last Man on Earth

Let me know if you want me to keep going, haha. Fearnet.com is your new best friend.

eh. i'm looking for even more obscure movies.

I just ordered Videodrome from Amazon... i think i'm going to try to make my rounds from the same director/writer, David Cronenberg. He actually wrote and directed The Fly as well.

I'm watching some stuff on fearnet... but most of their movies are in the year 2000 range. i want older stuff. Taking a look at the directory of re-animator, Stuart Gordon and some of his movies sound good.

hoping to find someone that has these movies so i can borrow them

I am too much of a sissy for horror movies, so I can't vouch for these, but this is a list from a friend of mine who is a total movie buff.

"The Screaming Skull" (1958)
"Horrors of Spider Island" (1960)
"The Brain That Wouldn't Die" (1962)
"The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies" (1964)
"Repulsion" (1965)
"Night of the Living Dead" (1968)
"The Horror of Frankenstein" (1970)
"Blood on Satan's Claw" (1971)
"The Giant Spider Invasion" (1975)
"Race With the Devil" (1975)
"Motel Hell" (1980)
"Creepshow" (1982)

Poultrygeist tells the wonderful story of an American Chicken Bunker fast food store being built on an Ancient Indian Burial Ground (the 'Tromahawk' tribe, to be precise). What follows is, in typical Troma style, the employees fending off a horde of zombie-chickens who want to the humans flesh.

awesome.
