Investing?

Does anyone in here invest?

and if so in what? I own some stocks. One of my holdings in Ford Motor company Capital two trusts which is preferred stock (big ford fan here). I bought it when everyone thought the big three auto makers were going out of business. One other sort of auto company I am looking at is Quantum Technologies (QTWW) they supply to the fisker karma car and just had a big pop when the government loaned them a half billion dollars for energy efficiency. I like what fisker is doing for the automobile, and think it could be an interesting investment for a small percentage of my portfolio.

other than that I own dividend stocks mostly JNJ, WMT and so on

Well, if you want to invest in something, most users on this site will suggest buying a house!

One word bro.... Diversify.

Get yourself an ETF fund based in Russia. Yes, I'm a biased mother ****er. However, the new oil finds in the arctic are making big headline news. Not to mention the "possible" merger between Exxon and BP.

I have some money into Pfizer. Has gone through a bumpy hill since January when I first got stock in it. The dividends pay well though.

As White said, I've heard about BP being a good one to invest in.

it would be an ideal situation to have a diverse portfolio... i.e. pharma company.. energy, etc... also to have things long and short term. specific companies? thats really research you should be looking into yourself.

Two words: Rental Propertys

FNM, AIG, PGH, IRE, PBT, SPNG. Best stock - up 230%. Worst - down 11%. We do have a stock market thread, but if this is general investing, i guess it's fine.

Wish i had more money to invest. The little i do have invested is making me a lot of money.

I bought 5 large bank stocks when they were hated.....and about to go bankrupt. C, GS, BAC, WFC, and .....Lehman. I only lost with Lehman so far. The other side of the portfolio is not so strong. I am not diversified and dont want to be. I am in oil and oil services. I have been riding these for a few years and made the mistake of not selling when oil was at $125 a barrel. Now oil is at $66 and my stocks are not fairing so well.
