You would be amazed at how good spray paint is getting. Wet sand, prime, paint, clear.

yea i would agree if u dont have the $200 to spend to get it professionally done spray paint isnt a bad idea if u do it correctly. i know a couple people who painted their side skirts with spray paint and u cant tell the difference

Showoff03LS 09-12-2009 07:47 PM

boostedfury 09-13-2009 12:39 PM

def man head to a sherwin williams, bodymaster places like that...and its usually not too much for that amount of paint and clear..all in the prep work!

you do know that a half quart = a pint right? lol

forget about spray painting it or taking it to Maaco, that's ghetto. OP, you have a PM.

$200 is a decent price. Tangerine Orange Metallic is also the color of my car; it's pretty expensive paint. Let me check and see if I have any leftover, if I do, it's yours.

i have sti splitters and fog lights ans stuff to paint. i went to an auto paint shop on baltimore pike. they wanted 200 just for the a quart worth of paint. Subaru watned 150 to paint them. i went on ebay and bought paint in a spay can (2cans shipped for 40). Hopefully i will be painting tomorrow and it will match my car

delphinE30 09-27-2009 10:47 PM

my guy painted my side skirts, rear apron, and spoiler for $175. all i did was drop them off. they came out matched perfectly!! o and it was metallic paint fairly rare as well lol. so if your up my way and need some paint done. hit me up before it gets too cold.

it won't match or look good or last very long, you can be sure of that. from a spray can = garbage.

people expect paint work to be cheap just because they see paint in cans on the shelf at an auto parts store and they figure they can spend $15 and still make it look good. The simple fact is that quality paint work takes time and a certain skill set. if you don't have either, pay someone a reasonable amount of money to practice their trade and do it right. OR... drive around with spray painted exterior parts and look like an idiot. lol

sorry, not an attack on anyone in particular, just a small rant. doing this stuff for a living and seeing certain posts just makes me do this  haha.
